On January 15th, STARSHIP Entertainment released a statement through IVE’s official social media channels titled “Apology for Rights Violation Incident of Our Artist and Commitment to Prevent Recurrence.”
The statement detailed: “Due to serious negligence by our staff member responsible for Chinese social media platforms on January 9th, which caused severe emotional distress to our artist An Yu-jin and all fans, we express our deepest apologies.” The statement added: “This incident occurred due to our company’s poor management. After confirmation, we have taken the strongest disciplinary measures against the relevant staff member and prohibited them from continuing to handle related duties.”
The statement further mentioned: “To prevent such unfortunate incidents from happening again, we will thoroughly reorganize our internal management system” and promised: “We will do our utmost to minimize the damage caused by this incident, and continue to take legal measures against the spread of false information and defamatory acts related to our artist, ensuring these issues do not escalate further.”
