ADOR releases statement on Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein opening a new SNS account

Amid an ongoing dispute with their agency ADOR regarding their exclusive contract, the group New Jeans has recently launched a new social media account and started engaging with fans, prompting ADOR to release its first official statement.

On December 18, ADOR issued a statement stating, “New Jeans has official platforms and social media accounts, such as Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), which were created to interact with their fans. We hope the members will continue to use these official channels to communicate with their fans, as they have done in the past.”

The statement continued, “Any accounts other than the official social media platforms opened by ADOR were created without prior consultation in accordance with their exclusive contract. We have received inquiries and complaints from third parties, including advertisers, regarding the accounts and content shared.” ADOR further explained, “Using these accounts for independent activities could lead to legal complications, and as such, we have raised our concerns with the artists and their legal representatives.”

Earlier, New Jeans created a new social media account under the username ‘jeanzforfree’ on December 14, where they began interacting with their fans. The members shared photos and videos of their activities, stating, “This is the real us,” and “What is this? It’s awkward. I wanted to see you all. We’ll meet here more often.” They also addressed rumors of plagiarism and continued to engage actively with their audience.

This move has garnered attention, especially following New Jeans’ announcement to terminate their exclusive contract with ADOR. On November 29, the group held a press conference to declare the end of their contract, leading ADOR to file a lawsuit in the Seoul Central District Court to confirm the validity of the contract.

Additionally, New Jeans made an appearance as guests at Japanese singer Yoasobi’s concert in Korea on December 7. In a recent Vogue Korea photoshoot, they omitted their group name and only listed the individual members, highlighting their independent stance.
