NewJeans is expected to soon complete all pre-arranged activities with ADOR. Many are curious about how the ongoing legal dispute between the group members and their agency will develop.
According to media reports, NewJeans has largely completed their pre-scheduled activities with ADOR following their appearance at the ’39th Golden Disc Awards’ on January 4th (KST). The members still have some remaining advertising commitments to fulfill, after which there are no additional scheduled activities.
At a press conference held last November, NewJeans announced the termination of their exclusive contract with ADOR, citing the agency’s failure to fulfill contractual obligations as the reason. The members stated at the time, ‘We will continue to participate in all pre-arranged activities with ADOR,’ while emphasizing that they are no longer artists under ADOR.
Since then, the members have begun conducting independent activities, notably launching a new Instagram account @jeanzforfree.
ADOR announced on January 9th: ‘The Light Jeans content scheduled to be uploaded at 19:00 on January 10th has been cancelled due to internal and external factors. We ask for fans’ understanding.
Light Jeans’ is a behind-the-scenes documentary series typically uploaded to ADOR’s YouTube channel. However, plans to upload this particular video to YouTube were suddenly cancelled. ADOR only cited ‘internal and external factors’ as the reason for the cancellation, leaving fans confused and sparking widespread discussion.
